During the pandemic I became a real couch potato with a string of habits impacting negatively on my health. I gained a lot of weight and struggled to shed it once we returned to normality. Watching a movie where two older actresses acquired beautiful bodies through training (Nyad with Jodie Foster and Annette Bening) gave me hope! But, being an academic, I was highly sceptical of “quick fix” diets and training methods. I joined Barbara’s gym in November 2023 and was immediately impressed with her scientific approach to my road to wellness. It was a combination of a sound eating plan, getting fit, and waking up those lazy muscles that have not worked for a long time. Combine that with Barb’s compassionate approach to meet me where I was, and gently take me to where I can be – all the ingredients for a winning recipe. I have manged to shed a lot of weight, I am fit, I have kicked numerous bad habits, and I feel fantastic. I highly recommend Barbara as a trainer if you are looking for a one-on-one training programme to make you look like a rock star.
